Job Summary

Amazon is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize logistics operations at our Nürnberg fulfillment center. This role demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, managing teams, and implementing efficient processes to meet customer expectations and company goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Nürnberg logistics center, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize productivity.

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a diverse team of supervisors, team leads, and associates.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including inventory, transportation, safety, and HR.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and labor laws.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational methodologies.

  • Prepare reports and present operational updates to senior management.

  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to meet operational objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

  • Proven experience in operations, logistics, or warehouse management, ideally within a large-scale e-commerce or retail environment.

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse teams.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and logistics/warehouse management software.

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement frameworks is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in logistics, operations management, or supply chain roles.

  • Prior experience managing large teams (50+ employees) in a fast-paced environment is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead operational change and achieve measurable results.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position.
