Job Purpose

The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for supervising, managing, and executing all civil and structural aspects of assigned projects.

The role requires a strong technical background, leadership in site coordination, and adherence to design standards and project timelines.

The ideal candidate must hold a G+12 Municipality approval (or equivalent) and possess a minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical & Site Supervision
Act as the main technical advisor on-site for subcontractors, site engineers, and workers.
Review, check, and interpret drawings, plans, and quantities for accuracy.
Ensure that all materials used and work performed comply with specifications, standards, and approved drawings.
Set out, level, and survey the site in coordination with the project team.
Oversee quality control and health & safety matters on-site.
Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed within approved timelines and budget.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
Resolve unexpected technical issues and coordinate solutions with consultants and clients.

  • Project Management
Support the Project Manager in preparing schedules, progress reports, and BOQs.
Manage and supervise subcontractors and site teams to ensure timely completion of work.
Participate in developing milestone schedules and three-week look-ahead programs.
Monitor and control project costs, ensuring execution remains within the approved budget.
Implement value engineering solutions to optimize cost and performance.
Review and approve civil works before submission for client or consultant inspection.

  • Coordination & Communication
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and local authorities for project-related matters and approvals.
Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, construction regulations, and by-laws.
Attend coordination and progress meetings with stakeholders and report updates to management.
Maintain regular communication with internal departments to align project execution strategies.

  • Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, reports, and correspondence related to project progress and performance.
Contribute to the preparation of management reports including project dashboards, milestone updates, cost and risk assessments.
Ensure lessons learned and best practices are documented for future reference.

  • PMO & Development Support
Work closely with the PMO to ensure project governance, quality standards, and documentation compliance.
Support in procurement and contract management by providing technical input and evaluating materials and suppliers.
Assist in establishing and maintaining a preferred list of subcontractors and suppliers.
Participate in project closeout and ensure final documentation and handover are completed properly.
Continuously build professional knowledge through site experience and training.

Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
G+12 Municipality Approval (mandatory).
Minimum 6 years of experience in an Engineering Consultancy within the UAE.
Strong knowledge of local construction standards, codes, and authority procedures.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera, MS Project, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
