Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking skilled and detail-oriented Concrete Finishers to join our construction team. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be responsible for shaping, smoothing, and finishing concrete surfaces for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong craftsmanship, knowledge of finishing techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Pour, spread, level, and finish concrete surfaces using hand tools and power equipment.

  • Set forms and ensure accurate alignment, elevation, and depth for concrete placements.

  • Apply curing compounds, sealers, or surface treatments to protect finished concrete.

  • Operate machinery such as trowels, screeds, or power floats to achieve smooth finishes.

  • Repair, resurface, or patch damaged concrete structures.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA standards at all times.

  • Work collaboratively with construction crews, supervisors, and project managers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a related construction role.

  • Proficiency in using hand tools (trowels, floats, edgers) and power finishing equipment.

  • Ability to read construction drawings and follow technical instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail and precision in finishing tasks.

  • Physical stamina and ability to perform heavy manual labor outdoors in various conditions.

  • Good teamwork and communication skills.

Experience

  • Minimum: 1–2 years of experience in concrete finishing or general construction.

  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience working on residential, commercial, or industrial projects.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position.

  • Standard working hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (overtime may be required based on project deadlines).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of different types of concrete mixtures and their applications.

  • Ability to operate finishing tools and heavy machinery safely.

  • Understanding of curing techniques and surface finishing styles.
