Job Summary

MNC JOBS INFO is seeking a skilled Fireproofing Technician to join our commercial construction team. This role involves applying fire-resistant materials to structural elements of buildings to ensure compliance with safety codes and standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and experienced in commercial construction environments.

The Fireproofing Technician will play a key role in protecting buildings, occupants, and assets from fire hazards while supporting project timelines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply fireproofing materials (spray-applied, trowel-applied, or intumescent coatings) to structural steel, concrete, and other building elements according to project specifications.

  • Inspect and prepare surfaces prior to fireproofing applications to ensure proper adhesion and quality.

  • Follow project plans, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.

  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and national fire safety codes.

  • Operate equipment safely, including spray guns, scaffolding, lifts, and hand tools.

  • Collaborate with project managers, safety officers, and construction teams to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.

  • Identify potential hazards and maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.

  • Document work progress, materials used, and any deviations from the plan.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in fireproofing or construction trades preferred.

  • Proven experience in fireproofing, coating, or commercial construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of fireproofing materials, techniques, and safety standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Physical stamina and ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in fireproofing, industrial coatings, or commercial construction.

  • Prior experience with spray-applied fireproofing and intumescent coatings highly preferred.

Working Hours

  • Full-time, typically 40–45 hours per week.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours when project deadlines demand.

  • Occasional weekend or overtime work may be required.
