Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking motivated and hardworking General Construction Workers to join our growing team. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals looking to build a career in the construction industry. As a General Construction Worker, you will support skilled tradespeople, assist with site preparation, operate basic tools and equipment, and help ensure that construction projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates with little to no prior construction experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation, setup, and cleanup of construction sites.

  • Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment.

  • Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and machinery under supervision.

  • Support carpenters, masons, electricians, and other tradespeople with daily tasks.

  • Follow safety guidelines and wear protective gear at all times.

  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete, gravel, or asphalt when required.

  • Perform basic measurements, cutting, and assembly tasks as directed.

  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and hazard-free.

  • Report any hazards, damages, or issues to supervisors promptly.

  • Carry out additional duties assigned by the site supervisor or project manager.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not mandatory).

  • Physically fit and able to perform labor-intensive tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

  • Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and construction processes (training provided).

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

  • Safety-conscious mindset with attention to detail.

Experience

  • No prior experience required; training will be provided.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position.

  • Standard working hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (overtime may be required based on project needs).

  • Flexibility is required to accommodate project deadlines and weather conditions.
