Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Construction Estimator to join our growing construction services team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in cost estimation and construction project planning. The role involves working closely with senior estimators, project managers, and engineers to prepare accurate cost estimates, analyze project requirements, and support bidding processes for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and project proposals under the guidance of senior estimators.

  • Review blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to gather essential data for pricing and material requirements.

  • Conduct quantity take-offs and measure materials, labor, and time requirements for projects.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and compare price quotations.

  • Support in preparing tender documents and bid submissions for clients.

  • Maintain accurate records of cost databases, price lists, and historical data.

  • Assist in identifying potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and efficiency improvements.

  • Participate in project meetings to support decision-making and ensure consistency in cost estimation practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Basic understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry terminology.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other estimation software (training will be provided if needed).

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Experience

  • Prior internship, training, or academic project experience in construction or cost estimation will be an advantage, but not mandatory.

  • Fresh graduates with strong academic knowledge and enthusiasm to learn are encouraged to apply.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

  • Occasional extended hours may be required based on project deadlines.
