Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and licensed professional counselor (LPC) to join our outpatient mental health services team. The ideal candidate will provide individualized therapy and counseling services to clients, helping them address emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in a supportive and client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments, intake evaluations, and treatment planning for outpatient clients.

  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.

  • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans accordingly.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

  • Participate in regular supervision, training, and professional development activities.

  • Advocate for client needs and connect clients with community resources as necessary.

  • Ensure a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment for clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.

  • Current and valid LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license in the relevant state.

  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques, mental health interventions, and evidence-based practices.

  • Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and provide culturally competent care.

  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation.

  • Crisis intervention and problem-solving skills.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed counselor in an outpatient, clinical, or community mental health setting.

  • Experience with diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and families, is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with individual and group therapy, as well as telehealth services, is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position: 40 hours per week

  • Flexible scheduling may be available, including some evening appointments to accommodate client needs.
