Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Network Engineer to join our international IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performance network solutions to support our global operations across Spain and the UK. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud network infrastructures to ensure consistent network performance.

  • Monitor network performance using advanced diagnostic tools and resolve latency, security, or connectivity issues proactively.

  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network-related needs for servers, cloud systems, and applications.

  • Troubleshoot complex network problems and ensure timely resolution of network incidents or outages.

  • Maintain and update network documentation, diagrams, and asset inventories.

  • Perform firmware updates, patches, and upgrades to optimize network hardware and software performance.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate security policies, GDPR, and industry best practices.

  • Support and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator in medium to large-scale environments.

  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and VLAN configuration.

  • Hands-on experience with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or similar).

  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark).

  • Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and SD-WAN solutions.

  • Familiarity with firewall configuration and VPN setup.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in network engineering or network infrastructure management.

  • Experience in remote troubleshooting and working within distributed global teams.

  • Previous exposure to network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting) is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Full-time remote position based in Spain or the UK.

  • Flexible schedule with occasional after-hours maintenance or on-call support, as required by global operations.
