Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a dedicated Site Safety Coordinator to oversee health and safety practices on construction projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting site inspections, implementing safety programs, and promoting a strong safety culture across all levels of the workforce. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in preventing workplace accidents, safeguarding employees, and supporting construction teams with expert guidance on safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.

  • Develop, implement, and update site-specific safety plans, procedures, and emergency response protocols.

  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.

  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, near-misses, inspections, and safety reports.

  • Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and project managers to address safety concerns.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal occupational health and safety laws.

  • Investigate workplace accidents, prepare reports, and recommend preventive measures.

  • Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging safe work practices at all times.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Recognized safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and compliance standards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and train diverse teams.

  • Proficiency in report writing, documentation, and use of safety management software.

  • Ability to work under pressure, make quick decisions, and resolve safety-related challenges.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry.

  • Proven track record of conducting safety audits, training, and incident investigations.

  • Prior experience in large-scale construction projects will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position, typically 40–48 hours per week.

  • May require occasional overtime, evening, or weekend shifts depending on project needs.
