Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tower Crane Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining tower cranes used for lifting and transporting heavy materials across construction sites. This role requires precision, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to coordinate effectively with ground crews to ensure smooth construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate tower cranes to lift, move, and position construction materials safely and efficiently.

  • Follow site-specific safety procedures, load charts, and crane operation guidelines.

  • Conduct pre-operational checks, inspections, and routine maintenance on cranes.

  • Collaborate with signalers, riggers, and other site workers to execute lifts safely.

  • Monitor crane performance and report mechanical issues to supervisors promptly.

  • Maintain accurate records of crane operations, maintenance, and safety logs.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and site safety regulations at all times.

  • Respond quickly to emergency situations to prevent accidents or material damage.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid crane operator certification/license (as per local/state/national requirements).

  • Strong knowledge of crane safety regulations and lifting techniques.

  • Ability to interpret load charts, lifting plans, and construction site drawings.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with site crews.

  • Physical fitness and stamina to handle long working hours outdoors.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–4 years of proven experience as a Tower Crane Operator in construction projects.

  • Experience handling high-rise building projects or large-scale infrastructure works preferred.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position with standard 8–10 hour shifts, Monday to Saturday.

  • Overtime may be required depending on project deadlines and site requirements.
