Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Team Lead to join our clients dynamic UK-based distribution centre. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with warehouse and logistics experience to step into a leadership role overseeing daily warehouse operations, staff performance, and workflow efficiency. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching goods.

  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse associates to meet productivity and quality targets.

  • Plan and allocate tasks to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to delivery schedules.

  • Monitor inventory accuracy, stock levels, and maintain proper documentation.

  • Conduct regular safety checks, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Liaise with logistics, procurement, and supply chain teams to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

  • Track KPIs such as order accuracy, on-time dispatch, and inventory turnover.

  • Prepare shift reports and communicate effectively with senior management.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a warehouse team.

  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes, inventory management, and logistics flow.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and basic MS Office tools.

  • Ability to analyze data and use metrics to improve operations.

  • A valid forklift or material handling equipment certification is advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain roles.

  • At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead position preferred.

  • Experience in a fast-paced distribution centre or e-commerce environment will be an added advantage.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position: 40–48 hours per week.

  • Rotational shifts may apply depending on warehouse operations (including occasional weekends).

  • Flexibility required during seasonal peaks or urgent dispatch periods.
