Job description:<br><br><p>JOB PURPOSE:</p><p>To perform assigned routine operational tasks within the respective Operation Centre in compliance to established policies, procedures, and standards, to ensure that work is completed according to plan, and supports the achievement of refinery targets.</p><p> </p><p>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:</p><p>Policies, Processes & Procedures▪</p><ul> <li>Follows all relevant policies, processes, procedures, and controls within the respective Operations Centre so that procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while ensuring high quality work is carried out safely and in a cost-effective and consistent manner.</li> </ul><p>Day-to-Day Operations</p><ul> <li>Carries out day-to-day operations within the respective Operations Centre to ensure that work processes are implemented as directed by the Supervisor, whilst complying with established policies, processes, and procedures.</li> <li>Receives daily direction from the Supervisor on activities to be performed, and ensures work is completed in a timely and safe manner, and in line with the required quality standards.</li> </ul><p>Operations</p><ul> <li>Assist Senior Operator/Technician to Handles and transfers material, tools and equipment to the required location ensuring compliance with safety, environment, and quality standards.</li> <li>Complies with the set housekeeping standards and procedures in order to ensure that the Operations Centre is clean and hygienic.</li> <li>Participate in team pre-start meeting to understand planned activities.</li> <li>Reports all accidents, incidents and near-misses to the Supervisor and assist in incident investigation to avoid re-occurrence.</li> </ul><p>Safety, Quality & Environment</p><ul> <li>Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls in order to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.</li> </ul><p>Related Assignments</p><ul> <li>Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.</li> </ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:</p><p>Minimum Qualifications:</p><ul> <li>High School Diploma (completion of technical secondary school) with a relevant trade certification.</li> </ul><p>Minimum Experience:</p><ul> <li>1 to 2 years of experience in a production plant is highly preferable (e.g. alumina, gas, oil or petrochemical plants). Preferably, having a certification or training that will provide the position holder with the required basic knowledge alumina refinery fundamentals.</li> </ul><p>Skills</p><ul> <li>Physical fitness and ability to work within plant work Basic knowledge of industrial processes / industrial background.</li> <li>Knowledge of continuous process operations</li> <li>Ability to complete routing operations support tasks within the assigned Operations centre with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Understanding of safety, quality and environmental management and control procedures</li> <li>Good communication skills</li> <li>Risk awareness</li></ul>
