Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Medical Insurance Underwriter to join our remote operations team. Key Responsibilities

  • Assess medical insurance applications to determine risk and eligibility for coverage.

  • Analyze medical histories, test results, and other documentation to make informed underwriting decisions.

  • Collaborate with medical professionals, agents, and brokers to clarify applicant information.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines during the underwriting process.

  • Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and prepare detailed reports for management review.

  • Identify trends, risks, and patterns in applications to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Support the development and refinement of underwriting guidelines and risk assessment models.

  • Handle inquiries from agents and clients professionally and promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Health Sciences, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of medical insurance products, terminology, and underwriting principles.

  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and underwriting software.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interpret medical reports and clinical documentation accurately.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in medical insurance underwriting, health risk assessment, or a related field.

  • Previous remote work experience is a plus.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (flexible hours may be considered based on time zone).

  • Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
